It is also the original meditation that all other techniques are base on.  This Ancient practice can reduce stress in less than 20 minutes Learn and experience the calming benefits of Vedic Meditation that you can practice on your own anytime anywhere. This technique is free from any dogma, no matter what your current belief system or lifestyle.  Vedic Meditation is a technique that traces its roots to the Vedas, ancient Indian texts that are the foundation for yoga and Ayurveda. Unlike Buddhist mindfulness-based techniques, Vedic Meditation (VM) doesn’t involve contemplation or trying to think compassionate thoughts. Instead, a mantra is used to settle the mind. It’s a powerful tool for cultivating calm and deep focus. Here are some of the basic principles of Vedic Meditation and a few ways this accessible technique can help you become more peaceful, clear, and insightful.  IMPORTANT ! You Need a Teacher  You cannot teach yourself Vedic meditation cannot be learn on YouTube—or in the pages of magazines or books.  It’s a technique passed down from Teacher to Student only.  If you’re interested in learning Vedic meditation I'm commencing a Course specific to this technique.  It's so important to learn with a certified , experienced meditation Teacher.  I've been meditating regularly for almost 50 yearsand am certified and initiated to teach this technique.  2.The Mantra you will receive is Personal . Mantras are wordless sounds that redirect the mind from thoughts and chatter.  Vedic meditation training enables teachers to discern each practitioner’s individualised sound upon meeting them, much like an Ayurvedic expert can read doshas. Your mantra belongs to you.  Receiving it is considered a sacred exchange. Revealing it is said to dilute its power. 3. Practice Makes Perfect  When thoughts arise, instead of acknowledging them and letting them go like we do in mindfulness meditation, gently return to your mantra.  Over time, the practice creates equanimity and balance so that whatever is going on I your life or around you . That you are able to maintain a state of inner peace and calm.   4. Vedic meditation is a wonderful technique for people with busy lives Practitioners typically meditate for 40 minutes each day: 20 minutes in the morning and 20 more in the evening. You can do it almost anywhere. Simply sit comfortably with your back supported in an upright position. Close your eyes and use your mantra until you get lost, let go, and relax. You aren't required to sit ion any uncomfortable position for long periods of time.   5. Calms a Busy Mind A meditative state of rest lowers stress hormones such as cortisol and balances brain waves. It also produces helpful hormones (such as oxytocin, DHEA, GABA, and melatonin). With consistent practice, you can experience the advantages of neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to adapt and learn from new experiences.  Over time, the brain will rewire into a calmer, more aware, less reactive state.  6. Reduce stress and anxiety Achieving deep relaxation helps you cope with the stresses of everyday life and a regular meditation practice can for sure help you relax. By reguarly practicing Vedic meditation, you can help your body respond to stressful situations in a healthier, calmer way.  Those who suffer from conditions like anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder can also heal with the help of a meditation practice.  Many scientific studies have reported that meditation helps decrease anxiety traits and reduce depression. reducing the need for dangerous prescpription drugs  7.Boost cognition and unleash creativity By achieving inner peace througth Vedic meditation it enables creativity and inspiration to flow In fact, it’s safe to say that mindfulness and meditation can help you develop your creativity in ways you’ve never seen before. Regular meditation allows for the brain to function optimally  8. Improve sleep quality It is also a powerful tool to help with insomnia and restless sleep. Today, many people struggle to get a restful night’s sleep. Some resort to medications that have serious side effects and may be bad for our health in the long run. The worst part? Sleepless nights are a vicious cycle, a self-fulfilling prophecy that drives stress and anxiety as the more you lie awake at night the more anxious you get about lying awake at night. People who suffer from chronic insomnia find it difficult to get out of this cycle. That’s where mindfulness practices can come in to help break that cycle and help us sleep better. A 2015 scientific review reported two studies that observed immediate, positive effects on sleep after meditating. 9. Improved cardiovascular health Stress can wreak havoc on our bodies. That’s why meditation can be so helpful in managing stress and improving our overall health.  But Vedic-based meditation techniques have the most science behind its effectiveness. In fact, a meditation practice is associated with reducing blood pressure and reducing heart disease as well as its risk factors. It's believed that meditation improves our bodies’ physiological responses to stress.  Each session is 90 minutes long  Dates are  September 14th, 21st, 28th, October 5th   Runaway Bay Gold Coast Queensland
